Free Nurse's Aide & CNA Training Programs

Are you interested in entering the healthcare field? Become an essential part of any hospital or care facility by training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Our 6-week and 14-week training options can help you launch your career as a nurse’s aide or certified nursing assistant.

Nurse's Aide & CNA Training Program Overview

We have two Nurse’s Aide & CNA training programs available:

  • 6 week program for those with proficient English. This program does not include ESOL classes.
  • 14 week program (Caring for Our Seniors) for those who currently have an intermediate English level.
    This program includes ESOL classes.

Details

Full time programs that prepares students to pass the Massachusetts State Nursing Assistant Exam to become Certified Nursing Assistants.

Participants learn basic computer skills, medical terminology and anatomy, healthcare customer service, hands-on clinical experience, and specialized skills for working with frail elders or hospitalized patients.

Starting hourly pay rate

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Do You Qualify?

  • Non-native English speakers should have an intermediate level of English proficiency.
  • Must be a resident of Massachusetts.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required for the 6-week training program.
  • Must be able to undergo criminal record screening (CORI) and drug screening.
  • At least 3 months of prior work experience is preferred, in any country or field.
  • Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling 50-100 lbs. as the job is physically demanding.
  • Must be able to commit to full-time employment for 6 months to 1 year after graduating from the program.
  • Must not be enrolled in full-time college courses.
  • Must be able to complete the entire full-time training program.

About the 14-week Caring for our Seniors training:

  • Serves non-native, Intermediate level English speakers
  • Includes 100 hours of ESOL training, in addition to core nurse’s aide training
  • Prepares students to pass the Massachusetts State Nursing Assistant Exam to become Certified Nursing Assistants
  • Specializes in training aides in long-term care through classroom instructions and hands-on clinical experience
  • Provides career placement assistance with Boston area employer partners

About the 6-week training:  

  • Serves Advanced or Fluent English speakers – this training does not include any ESOL classes
  • Prepares students to pass the Massachusetts State Nursing Assistant Exam to become Certified Nursing Assistants
  • Includes individualized job coaching
  • Guarantees a full-time job with benefits at participating hospitals for students who successfully complete the program.

Both of our CNA training programs are free to those who are selected to participate.

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Nurse’s Aides assist with daily patient care activities like bathing, dressing, and feeding, and help with mobility and monitoring vital signs. They also support nursing staff by maintaining patient hygiene, ensuring comfort, and documenting care provided.

Many hospital employers support further education expenses after 1 year of employment, including courses and education to become a registered nurse (RN), working in Phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, or occupational therapy.
